Courage Before the Dragon

Saint George, riding a white horse, raises his spear before the dragon. Light and his red cape reinforce the symbolic force of this image of courage and faith. For many believers, Saint George facing the dragon represents courage sustained by faith. The spear points toward a struggle that is also symbolic. Religious symbols span generations through stories, devotion, and feelings experienced differently by each person.
