Between the City and the Bay

Christ the Redeemer appears in the foreground while buildings, boats, water, and mountains fill the Rio de Janeiro landscape. Seen in layers, city, water, and mountains stop competing and tell the place's story together. Some places are recognizable from afar yet always reveal a new detail when we linger. Landscape is also memory: a horizon can hold journeys, encounters, and recollections each person reads differently.
