Frida Blooms in Color

Frida Kahlo appears surrounded by flowers, her gaze steady and her face at the center of the scene. Frida Kahlo made her own image central to her work. Her face therefore remains associated with identity, pain, resistance, and creation. Art is also a conversation between eras: familiar things can return with a new question and prompt a different perspective. A familiar image can stay alive when given a new context. The reference remains, but the question changes with time.
