The Attack Meets the Block

A Brazilian national team player rises to attack against a triple block. Ball, net, and stands concentrate the energy of a men's volleyball contest. Attack and blocking turn the net into a game of anticipation. The jumping player has a split second to decide where the ball can pass. Volleyball happens in split seconds: reading the block, jumping, choosing direction, and daring to decide the play above the net.
