The Flight Before the Basket

A Lakers player approaches the rim with the ball in one hand, in the instant before a dunk. In basketball, a brief leap concentrates training, timing, and decision. The next second may end in a basket or another attempt. The play reminds us that height helps, but timing, reading the play, and confidence to jump decide the outcome. The scene's interest lies in the interaction between its characters and what that encounter suggests to the viewer.
